Naxalites

Naxalites -- Who are they? How are they made? What they look like?  All these questions still remain unanswered... i'm still inquisitive. i got a glimpse of them in movie called Dil se by Mani Ratnam or Santosh Sivan's Terrorist.

I don't know whether my views are right or wrong but just want to pen down what i feel (do let me  know your viewpoint). Any movement acc to me starts with a small issue but when it is ignored or surpressed for many years then it grows into a revolt. For eg -- Khalistan movement started with a liitle plea to make Punjabi recognised as language in Constitution, but then it was ignored..later demands increased and took shape of a separate entity. Similarly, Tamilians in Sri lanka also asked for recognition of Tamil language and separate state Ealam but again surpressed and ignored and a terror organisation LTTE is born, which in its revolt took several lives including our PM Rajiv Gandhi.

Same or similar maybe other movements in India like Ulfa or abroad like Palestinians. A simple question arise in my mind why are we so closed circuit? Why can't we recognise fellow people and their small demands in first place? Why are heart so small that it can't accomodate a little flexibility in outlook and views? And see the result --- states burning like Assam, Hyderabad, J&K,  nations burning like Iran-Iraq, India- Pakistan, or regions burning like Middle east.

Also we talk of India as a nation, infact don't want to compromise with separate country demand of Kashmir, or infact still hope and dream of forming back the previous Indian subcontinent as one, but don't have same feelings and love for even all states leave neighbouring countries. My talks may sound absurd but honestly tell me Do we remember the names of all North- Eastern states and their capitals in same flow as other states? Why have we categorised them as 7 sister states when they all have their individual identity? Why do we not mingle with their students studying in different parts of the country or call them as Chinkies? Why do we consider all Kashmiri Muslims as Terrorists? So if there is difference in our outlook towards them then whats wrong if they want to have a separate identity for themselves? They also have the right to freedom like all human beings, to be known and recognised and not to be looked down upon. Ain't they also the creation of same God as we? So why a fight of supremacy when we all can live with each other happily accepting their traditions as theirs and ours as ours and enjoying both....Ain't Modern India a conglomeration of different cultures, ethnicities and religions....so why a fight for Marathi or Bihari identity. Think or a new movement may start to give birth to a new terror organisation.

National v/s Regional parties

Elections are again round the corner. With changing times Indian Political arena has had a sea change. The era of single party is over and coalition governments are the in-thing. But is it good for us? I mean coalition formed just to come in power or to keep someone out of power without common ideology or vision. Where will this take our country. The small parties who become a part of coalition start bargaining for portfolios even if they don't have a competent person for the post, and major party has to bow to their whims and fancies inorder to gain those numbers. The main party is not able to do what they wrote in their manifesto..on basis of which poeple voted for them...is it not cheating with the people then? This is all evident from last two governance that the PM or his party became helpless in carrying out developmental programmes or ideology they represent just because to please their coalition partners or to meet out their unusual demands. The Vajpayee government fights with mamta, jayalalita or mayawati -- a case in point. The Manmohan Singh govt not able to carry out its development programmes due to Left parties nonsensical demands. Infact 123 agreement became a reality when they had to do away with left partners. JMM Chief had to be re-included in the cabinet so as to prove majority even if that had to bring shame on their previous stand. So is the growing power of regional parties good for the development of country or regressive? Can you imagine a Mayawati with good numbers in UP become PM of the whole country? Are such leaders liable to represent the whole country by just bringing good numbers in only one state?

In my opinion we should think different in different elections. When we vote for local body elections then issues of our localities and who will serve our locality better should take predominance. When we vote for assembly elections then regional or national party who will bring good governance to the state should be voted to power. But when we vote for national elections then national parties who represent a larger population and cater to national issues and demands should be given more weightage than regional parties who are good for the welfare of state only. in fact we should do away with so many party system and their should be bipolar politics in centre like in US or UK. Then only we can eradicate this political bargaining and purchasing of numbers to gain power. See how the third front has united but with as many candidates for PM post. They are making a mockery of the most prestigious post. Like they did with the most honourable award Bharat Ratna in recent past, when all parties wanted their leader to be bestowed with the prestigious award. Just prior to elections, Mulayam, Lalu and Paswan have de-alienated from Congress as they think that by going alone they can garner more seats and hence will have better bargaining position. Do we need such leaders and representatives? Will they think of us or themselves? Then we should not complain that they don't work or politicians are corrupt or useless as we only choose such people to rule us.

We are campaigning to vote against criminals in this elections. On the contrary, BJP is inducting same lady whom they criticsed for corruption in past - Where is their ideology? Varun Gandhi episode and drama attached to it - Is this a party of literates? Why reconstruction of Ram Mandir comes in forefront when they need vote and after elections go in oblivion to emerge back when another election is due? How many elections will they need to really do something for the temple that brought them to Indian politics? They always criticise Congress but behave the same when they come in power - so what is the difference? Like wise Congress speak of dalits, Muslims, poverty in every elections. But still atleast these two parties think of development of the country too. But what about regional parties? What strategies or gameplan they have for national interest apart from their own self interest? What is RJD without Lalu, SP without Mulayam, BSP without Mayawati, or TDP without Naidu? Can they give us a good government? The EC and Supreme Court should stop post-poll alliance as that is a cheating with common man. As many parties fight with each other and then come to join hands to gain power and people see all that with feeling of being fooled. Only pre-poll alliance should be given political acceptance and if MPs cross party line then they should be expelled for that term even if they are of sizeable numbers because they were voted to power from a party platform. Many had voted to them as they represented a certain party and were following their ideology.

We should do a rethink of our electoral format and stop this political buffonery else this nation will go down and disintegrate. I would like to call all people to vote for right candidates who will work for their constituency and help in development of the nation as a whole. Stop thinking on caste, religion or political basis in casting vote as when parties/candidates are not loyal then why should we be loyal to certain party. When they think of their personal gains then we should also vote for candidates who will bring development to us. We should avoid voting for candidates with criminal background or linkage even if they stand from our favourite party ticket. In the end, i would like all to think whether we should give national parties more importance or regional parties in voting for MP elections.... So think before you vote as every vote is CRUCIAL and EQUALLY IMPORTANT as it is our own vote..our own preference .. our own right to work for our and our country's development.

They are also HUMAN

In morning i got a tweat message "sonaljhuj--families live on the pavement near my office. when I walk by the pavement I wonder if i'm trespassing and invading their privacy."

It made me think for a while that really we always long and protect our privacy but what abt those beggars and homeless on pavements, under bridge, slums, roadside tents.... don't they need PRIVACY?

We easily trespass their privacy every now and then without batting an eyelid. We never ever think and take them in light. We call it Dark India. Infact the generation next is so worried about their privacy that they don't like trespassing of family members and friends too. but what about these helpless people? They are happy to get a shade from sun or rain or cold..so what they have little piece of clothing to cover them up. Don't have basic amenities in life.... they have to go out for nature's call too.

Think and think .. an oscar to them is not enough..we have to treat them as humans too. Don't pity them but support them to have a decent living in whatever little way we can.

A step to change

Few days back i saw front page of TOI sharing views regarding elections thru Lead India campaign which were quite reflective of my own opinion which i also voiced in my last post. i am happy that media is playing such a supportive role in this election and taking pains that criminals and non-working politicians are removed from our political system. Actors like Aamir Khan are lending their mass appeal and power for constructive development of society with their campaigns. If such efforts continue then definitely a day will come for the winds to change.

I was taken by Aamir's statement that we have to be honest ourself to question honesty of politicians or civil servants. In my recent trip to Kanpur, i was having discussion with fellow passengers in which a middle aged person was continously criticising our Independent India leaders like Gandhiji or Nehruji for their actions and present corrupt politicians or civil servants. I asked him the same question for which he said of course i'm honest. i said sorry to point finger at you or others but many of you have bribed the TTE and not got your general ticket converted to AC ticket. Isn't this corruption? I mean all of us have the paying capacity for a AC ticket but we indulge in malpractices like this then how can we expect politicians etc to be honest. I said i could have also bribed the TTE but i chose to pay the difference. Everyone including him was silent...speechless...for a moment i thought that they all will laugh at me for paying the difference...but to my surprise a few appreciated me for my honesty and right move. I was feeling so proud at that moment that i can't explain...i was feeling a deep satisfaction that i took a step to bring a kind of change in my own attitude and in turn influencing few others too.

After 26/11

After 26/11 i felt devastated, ruined, raped and humiliated. Time and again i have seen invasions on my sovereignity but that night and foll days what i witnessed was totally diff type of assault. i felt helpless and mourn over my children who call me "Bharat Mata" but do nothing to protect my pride. Either they play blamegame or just talk without foll it with concrete actions or sit coyly in their homes. I want to ask till when will i have to suffer like this..till when...when will you all rise to protect your mother or else stop calling me "Mata".
You all must be thinking how melodramatic and filmy but this is what i feel would had been the emotional outpour if really our country was a living being. I am moved by this assault and wanted to do something..reach out to ppl and ask what should we do to stop terror strikes because everytime we blame govt or police but WHAT ARE WE CONTRIBUTING TO THE BETTERMENT OF OUR SOCIETY AND COUNTRY? i liked when Aamir Khan in his interview asked that do we pay our taxes honestly? if not then how can we expect our politicians and policemen to be honest? they are also a part of us only. After reading this i introspected and analysed that CHANGE has to come from within. If we change ourselves then automatically the change will be reflected in societal behaviour in large. We cannot change the system with some magical wand nor some Superhero will come and lead us to change. We have to change ourself as a unit..then spread this change to our nears and dears and as a result this geometric progression will bring a change to the country. It will take time but it will happen..so why don't we start today only.
I know its not easy to reform but we can start some changes in our behaviour to make a beginning. I know i have to bribe or lie to gain benefits in business, so also you all must be indulging in some malpractices. Unless the system changes drastically it will be difficult for us to sail against the tide or incur losses for our Gandhian approach. So what i suggest is lets avoid malpractices till it becomes unavoidable else we may suffer financial or personal losses. This may bring negative thoughts in our mind that we are fool as rest our enjoying vicious gains. So lets start the change by not bribing for -- short term gains like getting our things done before others, avoiding queues, breaking traffic rules, not paying our taxes, not abiding my social laws etc.
We must start using our RIGHT TO VOTE because we cannot stop criminals/dubiuos characters to contest elections but atleast stop them from winning by voting against them. I have observed that majority of youth is not at all concerned for the society or country then how can we expect our country to be a good one. We constitute the majority of population so we should make our presence felt in the society by voicing our opinion and participating in development programmes apart from our youthful merriment. Also literate community should atleast stop voting on the basis of religion, caste and creed. We should make our efforts to choose right candidates surpassing party, religion and caste syndrome. Also let us avoid being fooled by political parties who divide us on such basis.
We should also attach ourselves to some social cause like illiteracy, child education, orphanage, girl child abuses etc so that we also contribute in small way to uplift our fellowmen so that society develops as a whole. A country is successful in true sense if there is least divide between rich and poor. Thank you friends for giving your precious time and reading my views. I welcome you all to share your views with me and others and be a part of this community "PARIVARTAN" - WINDS OF CHANGE .. so that we all start in our small ways to change the thinking, perspective and ideology of the society. So that one day we stand united as INDIANS and every individual shows HONESTY to his work so that we avoid the repetition of 26/11. Jai Hind!!!!!
